Searching for Hope

hope

noun: hope; plural noun: hopes

1. a feeling of expectation and desire for a certain thing to happen.

We all have hope, it comes in many different forms. I read that there are 7 kinds of hope:

1.    Inborn Hope: the childlike hope before a child is tainted by reality and the people and things around them.

2.    Chosen Hope: when you make a choice to believe you are a winner not matter the outcome or you will be cured no matter what.

3.    Borrowed Hope: when a person you trust gives you hope so you “borrow” it from them because they believe you believe.

4.    Bargainers Hope: when a challenge or crisis makes you think “if I do this, then that will happen”.

5.    Unrealistic Hope:  hope that is very unlikely, “I will be the next Michael Jackson”.

6.    False Hope:  scams and schemes that mislead you into believing you will achieve your goal.

7.    Mature Hope:  hope that can wait, when you know as long as you are patient you will achieve your goal, with hard work dreams come true.

So why did I list these definitions?  I have no idea.  Hope has been on my mind, which is super ironic considering Hope is my name.  Hope has been on my mind because I have been trying to have hope, hope that things will get better.

It is so hard to have hope when you are down, especially when you have been kicked and down for a long time.  I can’t remember the last time I had good luck or if I ever did.  I know there are so many others who have it far worse and I shouldn’t complain, but a blog is for voicing my opinions and purge, so I am purging.  I used to be so optimistic, having hope was easy, now I struggle to stay positive.

How do you have hope when you see no options, nothing you can take away to make things better, no way to make the amount of money needed, no more courage to ask someone for to help?  What do you do?   How do you cope?

Motivational quotes help me, yes I know how funny and cheesy that sounds. “Where there is no struggle there is no strength.” That’s so true right??!?!  I just keep telling myself you are blessed you have an amazing husband and two beautiful children.  Surrounding myself by people who love and support me, people who will love me through the rough patches that gives me hope.

The thing that scares me is I feel myself hoping less and less, being negative most of the time.  Will I end up being a miserable person?  Will I get through this eight year rough patch?  Please say the end of the struggle is near and its smooth sailing from now on because Hope is losing hope in things ever getting better.
